We all have a list of creative projects that we want to do. You may have decided to make more and buy less or you just want to get that unique and personalised finish. Maybe you need some creative time or experience the satisfaction of getting something done.
The main reasons for not starting (or finishing a project) are:
- The lack of skills or confidence that make you think that what you are making is not going to be good!
- Information overload, you are looking at too many tutorials, videos and other information but you have no guidance or clear steps on what to do.
- Creative inspiration, you have lots of ideas but you don’t know where to start.
- Lack of time & space
We are here to help! Whether you need a refresher because you haven’t done any sewing in the past few years, or you require guidance with that piece of furniture that really cries to be updated or you need some inspiration and space to work on your makes, our CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS are designed to teach you new skills, challenge your creativity and provide inspiration to help you make unique creations.
Creative skills can be learnt but you need to practice!
The Old School Club started with the aim to provide a space for mums to learn, make and socialise whilst being flexible around your childcare arrangements. That’s why we also offer a CRECHE, so you can bring your children along to be looked after and entertained while you attend the classes or make along.
If you prefer an evening or weekend slot so you can fully relax or come after work, we also offer some of the classes at those times. Check our calendar for the next dates.
If you are after activites for your children, check our CHILDREN & CRECHE section. From the Little Crafters for toddlers to the Sewing school for over 6 year olds, we have a wide range of activities to help them develop creative skills.
Pop in for a coffee and a chat, we love it here and hope you will too.
"My daughter Amelie spent a wonderful week attending your half-term junior sewing classes. Each day she came home with an amazing project she had worked on. She really enjoyed it and was very proud of her work. She can't wait to come back for the Christmas workshop!" - Children Sewing School
"I attended Inma's modern upholstery course on Friday 9th October 2015. It was a great day and Inma was very patient and explained what to do very well. I returned home with with a reupholstered box seat which I am very proud of." - Upcycling, Chair of Footstool
"Thanks for a brilliant taster session on using Autentico paint. It was great to be able to have a go & see what can be achieved. I've already started painting at home!" - Intro to Autentico Paint
"I brought my son along to some of the Little Crafters Sessions, and he absolutely loved them. Such a lovely concept, which was well resources and engaged children of all ages. Sessions take place in a real child-friendly space, and parents can also catch up over a cuppa whilst their children experience art in a range of forms. Inma and Jesse are both lovely, with lots of patience and enthusiasm with the children. This is a truly lovely and unique way for children to experience art from a young age. We'll definitely be going back." - Little Crafters
"Organised my sister's hen do here to make some bunting for the wedding, from the start Inma was really helpful and enthusiastic, Layla took the course and showed us how to make pretty fabric flowers plus the bunting looked really professional, lovely space, tasty cakes and good fun! Really recommend" - Hen Party
