Hi, I'm Inma Goodhew, founder of The Old School Club.
I am a mum of two wonderful children. I am creative, curious, and a self-taught entrepreneur. I worked in demanding IT jobs for a decade in my previous life, but always loved doing arty things. I grew up in an environment where we everything was handmade, personalised and finished with love - I adore sharing these skills with others.
When I was on maternity leave I started looking for creative things to do with my son, but I couldn't find anywhere I could take my son with me. So I decided to start a small scale project from home. I started with sewing classes and I hired a nanny to look after the babies whilst we the mums enjoyed a bit of crafty time. This idea was developed into something bigger and better and The Old School Club was created.
Making things for me, my family and my home allowed me to learn, improve and practice everything I know. I now use my range of skills and contemporary style to advise my clients on colours & patterns, fabrics, furniture styling and how to make a project look fab & unique. I specialise in teaching beginners and keen crafters in sewing, painting furniture, upcycling and DIY projects. My classes are always informative, personalised, friendly and fun.
I have a fantastic team and resident teachers who make the club a unique and inspiring creative hub.
My proudest professional achievement is transforming my career from a senior role in IT to a creative entrepreneur, doing something that I am passionate about - teaching and making. I am very grateful I can do what I love and to create what I am now from nothing.
I look forward to meeting you at the club.
