UPCYCLING CLASSES

Below you will find our upcycling classes. If you have a project in mind that "doesn't fit" in one of the classes below, please contact us as we also offer one to one classes!

INTRODUCTION TO UPCYCLING - BEGINNERS

Do you have a passion for Upcycling? Would you like to know what pieces you can start upcycling and what you could do with them?

In this workshop you will learn:

- How to spot an upcycling opportunity

- Materials, tools and ideas

- What to change, keep and transform

- Upcycling techniques (stenciling, decoupage, textiles) and materials.

- We will also share many tips and useful information for you to start upcycling your own pieces.

If you have some projects & ideas in mind and need some advice on colours or techniques, please bring some photos and we will go through these too.

Everything provided, bring photos of your projects.

REUPHOLSTER A CHAIR OR FOOTSTOOL - IMPROVERS

Modern upholstery - bring your own drop-in seat chair

A workshop that teaches beginner upholstery techniques to a finished unique piece of furniture. In this course you will learn:

- How to take the drop-in sit apart, unpick staples or tacks.

- How to apply a new layer of calico and fabric to obtain best results.

- How to make pleats and add trimmings.

(Note that for this project we will be using modern upholstery techniques only).

MATERIALS: We provide the use of all upholstery tools, materials and equipment. We have a small but carefully selected range of upholstery fabrics, avg price £15 - £25 pm, but if you would like to make sure it matches your home decor, please bring your own fabric. You will need aprox 1m of fabric (if you have any questions, drop us an email with the photo of the chair)

UPCYCLE A LAMPSHADE

Do you have an old lampshade at home that needs a bit of love? Would you like to update your lampshades to match your home decor? Using Autentico Chalk Paint you will learn how to create a contrasting stencil and transform your lampshade into something new.

Please bring an old lampshade (drum, round or square) - Preferably made out of fabric, but we can paint on almost anything!.

Would you like to take your Upcycling skills further?

We recommend the following projects:

Join our Furniture Painting class, bring your piece of furniture, a side table, a mirror or even a chest of drawers and learn how to paint with Autentico Chalk paint and how to obtain your desired finish, whether it is distressed or modern.

If you would like to learn about Decorative techniques, you may apply these on your own piece or use one of our sample boards to learn how to decoupage, paint with stencils or prints to obtain a unique look and feel.
